PBA fans of yesteryears were treated to a very exciting replay of probably the most famous rivalry in Philippine Basketball, with Toyota winning 65-61. Terry Saldana was the game’s MVP, with 15 points and 15 rebounds.
Toyota led for most of the game, until Crispa’s Atoy Co hit two consecutive shots late in the 4th quarter to put Crispa ahead. Co struggled for most of the game, but made the jumpers to give his team the lead. Mon Fernandez reentered the game despite pulling his hamstring earlier in the game, and the Tamaraw’s countered the Redmanizer’s attack.
Inside the last two minutes, Crispa came within one after Bogs Adornado hit a big three-pointer to make it 62-61. But the next play was a classic, with a beautiful Fernandez-to-Jaworski pass, the Big J hitting the final three-pointer to extend the lead to four. It was his only field goal attempt throughout the game. Crispa’s Adornado missed a three-pointer in the next play, and they were forced to foul Jawo. He missed both freethrows, but the game’s outcome was already sealed.
What a way to start the PBA’s 2003 All-Star Weekend.

If by now you still haven’t heard about Mozilla Firebird, you ought to give it a try. Version 0.6 was released a few weeks ago, with several useful enhancements. And be sure to get some nifty themes and extensions, make it behave just the way you want it to. (Tip: Tabbrowser Extensions, TabScroller, Style Selector)

Browsing through Open Source Initiative provided me a very good lesson on the values of free software, but still I couldn’t decide which among the listed open source licenses I should use if ever I create something worth sharing with the rest of the world. I don’t think I can afford to read every one of them, noting what differentiates one from the other. Care to share your thoughts on this?

I’ve been online for several hours now, trying to get tapsiLOG working cleanly. I just made some changes to the codebase and thought it might be nice to put everything live! As of this moment, it can now send and receive trackback pings! I really hope to serve a public release soon, para maging sikat din ako tulad ni Jaemark. Of course you know that pancitcanton is now closed, and you don’t have to click on the link.

Zeldman recently mentioned several image rotator scripts for displaying random images on your pages. Hivelogic’s Image Rotator 1.5 and Matt Mullenweg’s A Better Image Rotator accomplish the task well. But two problems worth mentioning is their inability to display images of different sizes, and use a different alt text for each image. This site has been doing exactly that for quite some time now, using a short snippet of PHP. Of course, you can get the details.

I was just browsing through Mozilla Firebird’s project page when I saw that they finally have a win32 build for Firebird! Not sure if this is just a nightly or 0.6 (Glendale) itself, still trying to download it through dial-up.

Jeffrey Zeldman has just changed his default stylesheet, and surprisingly removed his branding logo at the top of the page.
I came across Noel Jackson’s site a few days ago, interesting blog especially if you consider how young he is.
Nothing much to write about lately, all I’ve been doing is hacking away at tapsiLOG hoping to make a milestone decent enough for public release.
