Merry Christmas!

UP Pasko 2006

It has been my tradition for the past three years to write a Christmas entry on the 25th of December, or sometime near that date. This time though, I’ll be doing it earlier for a change. Not surprisingly, it is another Oblation/UP shot though at least this one was recently shot unlike the dated photos I used to repost over and over again. :)

I like this photo. What do you think?

… and I forget to mention — i feel the lines make this photo effective… the oblation’s arms outstretched, aligning with the building’s top, the pillars aligning to the oblation’s body, and those same lines, together with the flag pole, pointing towards the photo’s upper right hand corner where the oblation is also facing… really nice.

The first thing I focused on was the statue — and initially, I thought it was a person with his hands stretched, ready to fall.

Then I realized this was the UP area.

lol. Great shot. Merry Christmas! =)

    Thanks Arjan. :)

Chris, I like how you analyze the photo. I do have the ability to distinguish great photos from good ones though not deconstruct it in a ’scholastic’ way. ;) Haha. I think a few hours of formal photography class will help. :)

Amanda, nice to hear from you again! I’m glad your blog is back, hope you’ll be writing regularly again soon.

    Merry Christmas everyone. :)
