Only in the Philippines do we get important holidays moved to other dates. Sucks, right?

right, some people tend to forget tuloy…tsktsk
yep, only in the philippines… i actually felt like an idiot the other sunday (june 8), my boss asked me whether i knew that it was a holiday on monday (june 9) back in the philippines, that they were celebrating independence day. sabi ko siyempre, sa june 12 pa. ayun, kinabukasan, sinabi na nga niya na nun yung independence day celebration. nalaman ko na din kila ermat nung sunday afternoon na every monday na ginagawa lahat ng holiday na within the work week ang bagsak. pero siyempre, pwede ko ba taluhin yung boss ko? of course not. (if not on july 4, 1948 :p)
Hehehe.
