The laptop that blogging bought

It would be inappropriate to gloat, but I guess most of you my dear readers would be pleased to know that I finally have my very own laptop! Blogging has been very good to me these past months, allowing me to earn through freelance work and more significantly, through advertising.

The laptop is an Asus A6R, with a Celeron M 370 running at 1.5 GHz, with 1 GB of DDR2 RAM and 15.4–inch widescreen display. Not really a very portable one, though I believe it’s a good balance of weight/size and performance. I would’ve wanted a 12–incher LCD, but those locally available are either prohibitively expensively or downright cheap you’d wonder where they’re from. If only more tech sites featured laptop reviews, and distributors more willing to lend a few units.

  6. That’s a good laptop. I just bought a Dell dou core 1.66GHZ with 1GB RAM and 80GB SATA 7200 rpm for only $600.00. My laptop is only use when I travel. Mura lang ba ang laptop, desktop and server sa pinas?

  7. Dexter, yeah this laptop is good though now it’s outpowered by recent releases. Wow, 600 USD for a laptop that good is a steal! Laptop prices here are okay, though do not drop as low as those offered in US holiday sales. And we don’t have rebates. For desktops, you can build a good custom rig since it’s quite easy to find individual pc parts here. Not sure about servers though.

  9. Estan, adsense works in certain types of weblogs/sites, though certainly not all. But once you find your niche, you’ll be set for growth and hopefully, adsense success. 🙂

  10. Congrats Markku, but why you choose the Celeron thing?
I myself bought a laptop (actually two .. the other one is used by my niece) .. a local laptop, axioo–something from adsense earning. Of course before I bought a car, a mitsubishi lancer car .. also from adsense earning.

  11. irawan, I got the laptop more than a year ago, back then the Celerons were much more affordable compared to the pentium mobiles.

Good to hear that adsense is doing well for you.

  12. Err .. pardon me Markku, It’s my fault, I did’nt realize that you posted it over a year.. the post date kinda shady to me

    Cheers

  19. I just started blogging last April. So far, I’m enjoying doing so. I wonder if I’ll get to the point of finding my source of joy a lucrative venture… Will it spoil the fun? Will I be on a creative drive to pursue doing so? I guess I just have to take it a day at a time, huh?

  20. @Sky High: Just continue doing the things you love. You may fail, but at least you’ve satisified your heart. Of course, success is never impossible especially if you keep the fire burning. 😉
