Five on Friday: Batanes Photos

Batanes [5]

Before I talk about the drama I’ve been selling in my previous entry, here’s five photos I submitted as my photo essay for our photo contest in Batanes. I didn’t win, but fortunately, my pangga Hana did! πŸ™‚ She got one of three special prizes, the other two going to Mimi and Ferdz. AJ got runner–up honors, while Joey bagged the top prize. Familiar faces, good company. πŸ˜‰ They all get to take home great photo printers from Epson so they can print even more photos from our trip.

Special thanks to Epson for taking us to Batanes, the place is more beautiful than I could’ve dreamed or imagined. Every Filipino should get to visit it at least once in their lifetime. πŸ™‚

  1. wow! nakapag post ka na agad pangga…haha, naunahan mo pa ako. πŸ™‚

loved batanes! and of course the nice people we were with there. salamat sa epson πŸ™‚

  2. According to the travel photographer interviews I’ve read, its never suggested to go to a place and just take pictures then and there: there has to be preparation, and a few days of just going around, assessing the best angles of the scenery, etc. I think even Noli Gabilo, who took the photos at the Batanes airport, and purportedly Manong Rogers best friend, believes that.

  3. @Juned: True, true, true. πŸ™‚

@hana: At least for once naunahan kita. πŸ˜› I think everyone from our group loved Batanes.

@Baklang AJ: Pa–print naman sa printers nyo, inggit ako. Hehehe.

@rain: Well, if you take the “pro photographer” point of view, medyo dapat nga ganun. But it takes away the awe and spontanaeity of being just a traveling spectator, it takes away the magic of seeing things for the first time.

@Aileen: Yep, we conquered! Nanalo pa si Hana ng printer, lupit! Recommended? Hmm, kung may budget for all the guests and you have time for possible re-schedules, why not? πŸ˜‰

  7. @neva: Thanks! Batanes is a beautiful place for lovers. Seeing all the beauty around you makes you fall for each other all over again. πŸ™‚

And you really don’t need photo lessons to take good ones, especially in Batanes. Anywhere you look, the place wouldn’t stop surprising you with its beauty.

@arranu: Thanks for dropping by. Bakit ang gulo ng pangalan mo? :p Hehe.

@noemi: Thanks so much! It’s true, what they say — Batanes is a place you should get to visit in this lifetime.
