Anne at UP

So I finally got myself the famous Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L, one of the best lenses you can get for Canon’s EF mount. Karl found a good deal on an IS version, so he was selling his old one. Being one of his long–time slaves friends, I was first in line and with a price too tempting, I went for it.

I took the lens the first day I could, even without paying for it in full yet. Hehe. I made sure my beautiful Anne was with me so we could have a not so impromptu shoot right away. 😉 The photos were great, even better than the first time I got to use the lens when I borrowed it a few weeks back. Now I can “see” shots differently with this wonder zoom. I just love it! Though of course not as much as I love my number one model. 😉 Hehehe.

Now I’m significantly poorer but with a lens I could make living out of. 🙂 I have more than 10 GB of photos to go through since the beginning of the year, so expect more in the next few days. That is, if my pending tasks or the flu doesn’t take me down again.

Note: I forgot to mention that a few shots from my Sigma 17-70 are included in the album, though the best ones are with the Canon L. 🙂

  1. congrats sa investment! alam mo ba na even 1 year used non IS versions of the 70-200mm f2.8L are still going over $1000 dito sa area ko.

ganda na niyan sa mga portrait shots.

I have a wedding tonight and I will be focusing mostly on the 70-200mm to take portraits… pero I will be switching around with the 50mm f1.4 and the 17-70mm f2.8 for bokeh and group formals respectively. I’ll also be testing out the lightsphere tonight as well as the Energizer 2650MAh batteries for the 580EX. see how the recycle times are on these batteries.

  2. dude, it was a blast.

dalawa kaming main photographers… so i had him do wide angle shots while i concentrated mostly on the 70-200mm range for portraits and candids.

there’s another big one scheduled sa January… and it’s a good thing na they’ll be doing it outdoors… sa Cali yun eh, pero they’ll be flying in sa wedding reception ko for their own Engagement and Bridal photos… I plan to do it overlooking the freeway or something.

  3. so far panay relatives ko pa lang ang shinu-shoot kong weddings… nagiipon ako ng portfolio shots to present to future clients. magandang practice… i do need to learn more on how to pose the bride during bridals.

  4. Pre, the best way to learn wedding is by assisting seasoned wedding shooters. My behind the scene stints with mimi and karl has been a valuable learning experience. Learn from the best. 🙂

Can’t wait to shoot again in the next few weeks, wedding season na naman.
