Why do we blog?
A fellow iBlogger shares her thoughts on people’s reasons and motivations for blogging. I asked this question almost two years ago, only to find the reasons written when it all started.

I was at iBlog last Saturday with Raych and Joey. Ran into Ederic and Mec, and finally met several pinoy bloggers I’ve been reading regularly, but the highlight of my day was finally meeting The Sassy Lawyer and Yuga, the people behind the popular pinoyblog community. I really enjoyed Dean Alfar’s talk, informative and insanely […]
I’m on dialup at home using Sky Internet’s BLAST Prepaid, browsing my daily share of blog reads, and I comment on an entry on Grace’s blog about a Pisay ’96 couple’s first baby, then — boom! Livejournal greeted me with a surprising message: Your IP address (203.215.116.32) is detected as an open proxy (a common […]
Raych just pointed me to the 1st Philippine Blogging Summit which will be held at the NISMED Auditorium in UP–Diliman on May 7. That’s next Saturday. See you there!
Friday, very late in the evening. My mobile phone interrupts my usual fare of late–nite TV. “Pare, ikaw ba si Rico?” the man with the obscure international number quickly asks. WordPress’s Pages in version 1.5 is a godsend feature. It rocks! I just wish the mod_rewrite rules it wrote were simpler. Go on, test this site. The upgrading ain’t done yet, we’re just beginning!
I just updated my comment highlighting plugin for WordPress and it’s now bumped up to version 1.1. The previous version works fine but 1.1 adds functionality for WP–1.5! Utilizing the added plugin hooks in 1.5–strayhorn, you can highlight comments from the comment loop in the entry pages by using the rp_comment_hilite_link() function, which works not […]
I just updated wp–recent–links to work with the latest WordPress release. It’s now up to version 1.32. I’m glad to have great hacker friends around that always get to the problem in no time, and with feedback from users development is much easier. I’ve been wanting to integrate the additions Eric Meyer made several months […]
Yes, the latest iteration of the greatest weblog publishing tool is now up for grabs! The development people are talking about it, and soon everyone — but maybe not the WP dev blog nor Matt himself. 🙂 Happy hacking everyone, time for some code refresh of our plugins. 🙂
If you visited this weblog yesterday you would’ve seen the standard “bandwidth exceeded” message. Yes — bandwidth exceeded. For the second straight month, I managed to overshoot my bandwidth allocation with hardly a few new entries. I find it really surprising, pleasantly. A good percentage of the traffic pie goes to my personal lyrics weblog, […]
