ABS-CBN hates blogging. They hate it so much they interviewed a local blogger who has extensively covered the first season of Pinoy Big Brother and almost everything related to it, only to defer airing the said segment at the last minute.
Retzwerx.com has been the online authority on the hit reality show that captured the hearts of Filipino viewers for several months. Along with countless other bloggers writing on the topic (including my PBB weblog), the pinoy blogosphere discussed, debated, even ogled at the housemates as everyone posted their honest thoughts, almost everyday.
Upon the conclusion of the season, the production took steps to feature the various materials that have been part of the show, including those indirectly related. This included an interview with Retz, who has taken PBB blogging very seriously. Unfortunately, the segment will never air, for reasons that only make sense to ABS-CBN top honchos. And Retz is still doing his part, still writing as if his life depended on it.
These developments has the pinoy blogging community very upset. Yuga breaks it down, showing what could possibly be ABS-CBN’s reason for taking it against bloggers. Rickey has a softer stance, though disappointed just the same. Personally, I take offense as well, as I’ve written a few entries about the show here on rebelpixel.com, along with the PBB weblog written by my friend Mike. Many others have written as well, and the consensus is: ABS-CBN is a symbol of hypocrisy if indeed it feels that way towards PBB bloggers.
